Akintunde Sogunro

LONG BIO

Akintunde was born in Lagos, Nigeria and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He spent his childhood growing up in Canada. He is a first degree blackbelt Cheezic Tang Soo Do(Korean Style) and 2013 East Coast Invitational Amateur Boxing Champion. Akintunde Sogunro is the director and producer of the award- winning inspirational documentary film Victory as well as the author and creator of the hit children's series Mama Stitches(www.Mamastitches.com).

Sogunro graduated from Western Connecticut State University in 2019 with a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative and Professional Writing and earned his bachelors's degree in Theater from Southern Connecticut State University in 2011. He has studied at the Circle in the Square Theater School on Broadway and has worked with such notable directors as Dexter Singleton and Woodie King Jr.

Sogunro serves on the preaching team at his local church and is avid about his faith Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.
