I am Yolanda ‘Dee” Ortiz and I was born in BPT CT. I wanted to start out by saying how excited I am for you to be bringing this amazing opportunity to CT. I have been really enjoying this process by being team and talent coordinator while making sure we were always on track with communicating between the team and talent and keeping the energy and flow going. A fun part of my role was being able to interview the children and help prep and work with them on their lines for the poem and making sure they were where they needed to be when they needed to be there.

I was very proud of myself when I was able to assist the director by giving him my creative input on the new storyline that he and the team loved and chose for our piece. This journey has made me realize that I can use my creativity that I put towards my small Business called Leave it to Dee, where I do everything from event and party planning, personal assistant, Day of coordinator, host and interviewer as well as create beautiful charcuterie boards, tables and cones and more. My business name basically explains who I am in real life :) My brain always has so many ideas running through it so being in my created state during this last month has felt incredible!

I have never worked as a PA but when I acted on Bet shows and music videos I would always make friends with and wanna know everything from all the crew. I actually thought it seemed more fun to be behind the scenes and see how everything came together than in front of the camera. I also interviewed and worked for celebrities which had to be one of my favorite things I did in Atlanta and when I moved back to CT was forced to face the real world with jobs my creativeness, energy and drive wouldn't fit in. I am also a super mom to an amazing 11 year old girl Giyana and this opportunity has brought back the shine to my eyes and excitement I have been missing for so long and being able to share this experience with her has made it even more special.
